Zenith, GTBank, ETI Top List of High Paying Dividend Banks

Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Zenith International Bank Plc, Guaranty Trust Bank Plc (GTBank) Plc and Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) are amongst the high paying dividend banks so far for year 2012 audited period.

Corporate actions update 2013 to date from investment research firm, Afrinvest West Africa Limited and made available to InvestAdvocate shows that 11 banks had so far declared dividends in the review period.

A breakdown of this shows that only four (4) banks paid dividends in Naira, while the other six (6) paid Kobo dividend. Apart from First City Monument Bank (FCMB) which declared a 1 for 25 bonus to its shareholders.

A further breakdown of these shows that Zenith Bank paid N1.60, GTBank N1.30, ETI 0.4 Cents (N64.48) followed by FBN Holdings Plc (FBNH) that paid N1.00.

Those that declared in Kobo are Access Bank Plc which declared 60 Kobo, United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA) and Skye Bank Plc 50 Kobo respectively, Fidelity Bank Plc, 21 Kobo, Sterling Bank Nigeria 20 Kobo and Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc paying the lowest at 10 kobo.

However, the corporate actions update 2013 to date from Afrinvest showed that in the review period only 46 companies has so far declared dividends for the 2012 year end at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
