Sanusi’s Suspension: CBN Assures International Investors

Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Thursday assured international investors that there is no cause for alarm following the suspension of Lamido Sanusi as governor of nation’s apex bank.

This is contained in a Statement by Isaac .A. Okoroafor, director corporate communications of the CBN and made available on its official website.

According to Nigeria’s central bank, it’s assuring all stakeholders, especially money market operators, international investors and the general public that the CBN as an institution remains stable and will continue to facilitate the smooth functioning of financial markets as well as ensure currency and price stability.

In the same vein, the apex bank confirmed the suspension of Lamido from office as governor of Nigeria’s central bank.

‘’ The central bank of Nigeria (CBN) has received a letter from the secretary to the government of the federation (SGF) conyeing Mr. Presidents decision to suspend Mr. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the governor of the central bank of Nigeria and the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Sarah Alade as the acting governor,’’ the statement said.
