The Director General of SEC NIGERIA, Ms. Arunma Oteh, has received the honour of “Woman of Conscience” in her administration of a public sector company while SEC NIGERIA, which she leads, was declared the “Most Ethically Responsible Federal Commission 2012/2013”.
Speaking during the award conferment at the Commission’s head office in Abuja, Executive Director Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation (CESVO) Prince Salih Musa Yakubu commended the DG for her work in SEC especially her determination to ensure integrity in the capital market and her fight against corruption. Yakubu said the responsibility of the organization is to fight corruption and promote ethical leadership and value reorientation.
In her response, Ms. Arunma Oteh, described the award as a call on the Commission to do more, adding
“It is great when you are doing your work and people are on their own recognizing you and want you to give sustainability to your role in making the nation better. What we do as the SEC is important in making Nigerians realize their potentials”.
She dedicated the award to President Goodluck Jonathan who has given her unalloyed support thus far adding “Many people do their work, but I will not have this recognition if there is no support from the President. I pray God to give guidance and to make sure the right people are recognized” she concluded.
