Nigerian Breweries Revenue up Moderately 6.8%

Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Nigeria’s brewing giant, Nigerian Breweries Plc Friday reported 6.8 percent (6.8%) growth in its first quarter (Q1) report for the period ended March 31, 2014.

Revenue of the brewing firm grew moderately 6.8% from N64.573 billion in the Q1 of 2013 to N68.976 billion in the review period of 2014.

Profit before tax (PBT) also increased 8.3% from N13.588 billion in the first quarter of 2013 to N14.710 billion in the same period of 2014.

Similarly, profit after tax went up 6.8% from N9.416 billion in the Q1 of 2013 to N10.059 billion in the review period of 2014.

Analysts at Cordros Capital Limited said the giant brewer currently trades at a trailing P/E and P/B of 25.58x and 9.14x respectively, compared to GUINNESS (26.84x  / 6.91x respectively) and INTBREW (19.95x / 4.96x respectively).

As at the end of trading at the Nigerian bourse share price of the brewing giant opened at N150 and closed at N148.08.
