Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Newly listed firm in the oil and gas sector of the Nigerian bourse Caverton Offshore Support Group on Tuesday announced a contract extension with Total Exploration & Production Nigeria Limited for a period of two (2) years.
The company in a notice to the Nigerian stock exchange (NSE) said it won a three (3) year contract with Total in 2011 for the operation of four (4) helicopters into TEPENG’s offshore fields. ‘’The extension will see Caverton servicing the company till 2016,’’ the company said.
In another development, the leading provider of marine, aviation and logistics services in Nigerian and sub-Saharan Africa said it has acquired a brand new AW139 helicopter, the seventh in its fleet.
‘’As part of the company’s earlier stated plans to embark on fleet expansion, the new aircraft adds to the growing fleet of Caverton’s Agusta Westland helicopters thus making it the largest fleet in sub-Saharan Africa,’’ the company said.
According to Caverton, the new helicopter is dedicated to the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SHELL) contract which the company won in 2010 through a competitive bidding process.
