Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Regional forum providers for the discussion of investments, economics and finance, CFA Society Nigeria will on Wednesday launch the ‘’Statement of Investor Rights’’ developed by the Institute.

The event “2014 Putting Investors First Day” will be held at the Nigerian stock exchange (NSE) in Lagos Nigeria.

This is aimed at periodically engaging the Nigerian investment community on various aspects of the CFA Institute’s recently launched “Future of Finance” project.

The regional forum providers for the discussion of investments, economics and finance affirmed the need to protect the rights of investors as a basis for restoring confidence and trust in finance professionals.

‘’Our aim is to remind the investment professionals and firms of their fiduciary role and to subscribe to a higher level of standards in their dealings. Our core target audience are the investing public, asset management firms, investment management firms, merchant banks and pension fund administrators,’’

CFA said this is a long term global effort to shape a trustworthy, forward thinking financial industry that better serves society. ‘’The global financial industry can be an extraordinary force for good, helping to solve problems, ensuring the wellbeing of nations and achieving the goals of Society,’’ the Institute said.

The board and management of the CFA Society and other guests will also ring the closing bell at the Nigerian bourse.
