President Barack Obama called for the “strongest possible rules” to protect the open Internet.
The Federal Communications Commission shouldn’t allow so-called fast lanes and should regulate high-speed Internet service, or broadband, like telephone service, Obama said. The agency should not dictate rates, Obama said in a statement distributed by the White House today.
“I am asking for an explicit ban on paid prioritization,” Obama said in a statement.
