Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Bear runs on Thursday persisted amidst sell-offs at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) as all-share index (ASI) dipped 3.54 percent to close at 31,062.03 basis points, while market capitalisation fell by N380 billion to close at N10.25 trillion.
Current Year-to-Date (YTD) returns at the Nigerian bourse stands a negative 24.84 percent.
In terms of sectoral performance, the NSE Consumer Goods index declined 4.45 percent to emerge the worst hit sectoral index among others; while the NSE Insurance emerged the least hit to close at negative 1.93 percent.
Also, at the end of the session, market breadth remained poor with 10 gainers and 44 losers. Nigerian glass maker, Beta Glass Plc emerged the top gainer with N1.15; while fast consumer moving goods producers Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, topped the losers table losing N4.72.
Similarly, the market turnover closed on a negative note as volume traded went down 0.40 percent to 374.70 million shares, valued at N5.61 billion and traded in 4,258 deals.
