Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday maintained a three (3) day bullish streak as all-share index (ASI) climbed up 0.51 percent to close at 31,355.28 points, while market capitalisation increased by N53.17 billion to close at N10.46 trillion.
With this positive momentum, current Year-to-Date (Y-t-D) returns at the Nigerian equities market stands at a negative 9.53 percent.
Cordros report say all of the five (5) NSE Sectoral indices appreciated. “The Banking index remained on top of the gainers’ list for two (2) consecutive sessions with a 1.03 percent increase while the Industrial and Consumers Goods indices followed with 0.52 percent and 0.30 percent gains respectively,” the report added.
Similarly, the Insurance and Oil/Gas indices also appreciated by 0.05 percent and 0.01 percent respectively.
At the end of the session’s transaction on the Nigerian bourse, market breadth maintained a positive outlook recording 26 gainers and 18 losers. Insurer, AIICO Insurance Plc emerged top gainer with a gain of 0.06 kobo; while Nigerian glass maker, Beta Glass Plc led the losers chart with a loss of N1.35 kobo.
In terms of turnover, volume traded increased by 13.45 percent to 528.86 million shares, valued at N5.30 billion and traded in 4,955 deals.
‘The bull is expected to prevail in tomorrow’s session on the back of stable investor confidence,” the Cordros update affirmed.
