AFRIPUD Retains 35 Kobo Dividend as Profit Grows 33.2% in 2014

Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)- first listed registrar on the floor of the Nigerian bourse, Africa Prudential Registrars Plc (AFRIPUD) on Wednesday proposed to offer shareholders of the company a 35 kobo per share dividend in its 2014 audited year end.

The company in a notice to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) said its board of directors passed the resolution to pay the 35 kobo dividend to investors at a meeting they held on Monday March 10, 2015.

According to the company, the recommended dividend translates to N700 million, the same amount paid in 2013 audited year end the same year the Registrar listed on the Nigerian bourse.

“If approved, the payment of the dividend will be made on Friday, April 10, 2015 and the qualifying date shall be March 17, 2015,” the company said.

AFRIPUD has scheduled its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 by 9am at the Lagoon restaurant, Ozumba Mbadiwe Crescent, Victoria Island, Lagos.

“The Register of Members and Transfer Books of the company will be closed from March 18-20, 2015 both days inclusive for the purpose of updating our Register of Members,” the notice added.

A review of the audited report for the period ended December 31, 2104 shows that profit after tax (PAT) grew 33.2 percent to N1.218 billion from N914.45 million in 2013.

Profit before tax (PBT) also climbed up 7.3 percent to N1.300 billion from N1.212 billion in the same period of 2013.

Similarly, Registrars fees income climbed up 10.5 percent to N856.03 million from N774.72 million in the corresponding period of 2013.
