Lucky cash prize winners today emerged from the grand draw of the Ecobank Giant Prize Give Away Promo in Lagos. Mr. Ekezie Godson Chigozie, Engr. Basil Ewaen Idahosa and Awala Ebiobowei emerged the star prize winners of N2.5 million each, while Okoro Oghenevwame, Awoke Mathias and Onwuka Jude Obilor won N1 million each. 24 other customers won consolation prizes such as air conditioners, generators, LED television, mobile phones, washing machines and inverters. The n event was monitored by the regulatory agencies in the lottery sub-sector.
Speaking at the event, Head of Advantage Banking, Ecobank Nigeria, Mrs. Dammy Oruwari, said the campaign showed that the bank has a lot of loyal customers.
“Ecobank is a pan-African bank. We are present in 36 countries in Africa. We have a lot of products to service customers’ needs. This promo is more like one of the things we do. We like to reward our loyal customers. “It is a continuous thing, it is not what we do one-off and so I will implore everyone here today to spread the good news. It is real and you can see that what we are doing at Ecobank is genuine,” she added. Lottery regulators from National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Lagos State Lottery Board and Consumer Protection Council at the event also lauded the transparency of the draws.
Announcing the takeoff of the promotion in Lagos last September, Deputy Managing Director, Ecobank Nigeria, Tony Okpanachi, said Ecobank decided to run this second edition of the Giant Prize Give Away promo following the success and testimonials recorded in the previous edition. He noted that feedback from customers was positive and impressive, adding that, the promo is also the bank’s contribution towards the financial inclusion strategy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
According to him, “This is one of several ways to reward our loyal customers even as we offer them the best of banking services. It is also to encourage savings culture in the country. Ecobank remains the best platform to provide economic empowerment to our peoples across Africa.”
Mr. Okpanachi explained that to ensure many customers benefit from the various prizes, the promo was segmented into two categories. Under category one, new and existing customers who made deposits of N10, 000 into their currents or savings accounts and leave it for 60 days to qualified for the bi-monthly regional draw in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja. Multiple deposits of N10, 000 gave the customers more chances of winning.
For the category two, he explained that new and existing customers who made fresh deposits of N50, 000 into their current or savings accounts and left it for at least 60 days qualified for the bi-monthly regional draw in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja. Deposits in multiples of N50, 000 gave the customer more chances of winning, while maintaining a minimum of N50, 000 for 180 days qualified the customer for the grand draw.
