Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Nigeria’s top tier lender, Diamond Bank Plc on Wednesday said it has appointed Sunil Kaul a non-executive director of the bank.
The lender in an issuer’s announcement to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) said the decision came after its board of directors meeting held March 12, 2015.
According to the bank, Kaul joined CitiBank (1985 – 1988) as Financial Control Unit Head, West India, India (Bombay) Customer Service Head, Corporate Banking, West India, India (Bombay) and worked in the following Units/Departments over the years:
1988 – 1991 – Transaction Banking Head, North India (Delhi)
1991 – 1993 – Area Director, Global Consumer Business, South India (Madras)
1993 – 1994 – Director, Remote Banking and Credit Card Services, India (Madras)
1994 – 1995 – Area Director, Americas, Non Resident India Business (New York)
1995 – 2000 – Business Head, International Personal Banking USA (New York)
2000 – 2001 – Global Business Development Manager, Corporate Banking, GTS (Stamford, CT, USA)
2002 – 2003 – Regional Head, Global Transaction Services (GTS), Japan (Tokyo).
Kaul later joined ABN AMRO NV where he worked between 2003 and 2004 as Global Cash Management Head, Corporate Banking (Amsterdam).
He re-joined CITIGROUP in 2005 as President, Citibank Japan; Chairman, Citi Cards Japan (CCJ) and Citi Consumer Finance (CFJ), Tokyo. He was also a Member of Citi’s Global Management Committee & Global Consumer Planning Group.
From 2008 to date Mr. Kaul has been with The CARLYLE GROUP as Managing Director, Carlyle Asia Partners (CAP), Singapore a position he held until he was appointed a Non-Executive Director of Diamond Bank Plc.
