Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Insurer, Prestige Assurance Plc said on Monday it has appointed G. Srinivasan as the new chairman of the board of the company and Chandranat Kale as executive director respectively.

The company disclosed this in an issuer’s announcement with the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).

Prestige said the new appointments is coming on the heels of the resignation of three (3) of its directors from the board of the company namely, C.S. Sankey who resigned as chairman, J.O. Adewole and R. Hathiramani.

According to the insurer, Srinivasan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce (B.Com) and is an Associate of Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ACMA) and Fellow of Insurance Institute of India (FIII).

He has 35 years of experience in General Insurance Industry at various places in India and abroad, both at operations and corporate management level. He was the Managing Director of New India Assurance Co. Ltd (Trinidad & Tobago) in the Caribbean (2001-2005). He also served as the General Manager at New India Assurance (2005-2007) and CMD of United India Insurance Co. Ltd from 2007 – 2012.

Srinivasan is currently the Chairman and Managing Director of New India Assurance Co Ltd.

While, Kale holds a B.A., MPM, DLW, LLM (Corporate Laws) and is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria.

He was seconded from New India Assurance Co. Ltd to Prestige Assurance Plc and has 24 years of experience in general insurance industry in India and 5 years general insurance industry in Nigeria including underwriting, legal, marketing, claims, administration and risk management. He was the General Manager Risks Control prior to his appointment on the board of Prestige.
