The New Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Ibe Kachikwu has sacked the controversial Managing Director of the Petroleum Product Marketing Company (PPMC), Mr. Haruna Momoh, as part of plans to implement the biggest shake up in the history of the state owned corporation.
Officially codenamed TSUNAMI IBE, sources in the NNPC told THEWILL that restructuring which started Wednesday with the sacking of the Group Executive Directors (GEDs) of the corporation as well as the reduction of the number of directorates to four from eight, will see all the Managing Directors in the NNPC and its subsidiaries removed from office.
“The NNPC is witnessing a massive shake up. This will be the biggest clean up in the corporation’s history. It is officially codenamed TSUNAMI IBE,” a source in the NNPC, who opted to remain anonymous in this report told THEWILL.
Dr. Kachikwu, whose appointment as GMD by President Muhammadu Buhari was first reported by THEWILL, assumed office on Tuesday (yesterday) afternoon.
