Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Nigeria’s tier one lender, Fidelity Bank Plc has been named the best Bank to work for in Nigeria according to a recent study conducted by Venture Africa, an online platform for news and analysis about African businesses, in conjunction with Jobberman.com, Nigeria’s leading employment website.

“Fidelity Bank is the only Bank among the top 12 most preferred places to work in Nigeria,” a statement from the lender said.

The report tagged “Top 100 companies for Nigerian millennials” surveyed young Nigerians born between 1982 and 2003 and measured company culture, dream-company, staff welfare, gender equality, government institution, company’s prestige, salary, and non-salary benefits. It also looked at the level of satisfaction, salary consideration, level of contentment, career growth, concerns outside work and work-life balance amongst others.

The statement quoted the organisers as saying that Fidelity led all other banks in the country in all the measuring indices.

Nnamdi Okonkwo, managing director/chief executive officer (MD/CEO) of the Bank said that the development is a testament to the bank’s robust human capital management policies which focuses on enhancing the lives and wellbeing of employees.

According to him, Fidelity places a premium in supporting and rewarding the performance of its people. “We are proud to be honoured, especially because of our strong initiative and focus not only on staff welfare but also on the wellbeing of their families,” he added.

Okonkwo alluded to the great work the bank has done in making Fidelity Bank a great workplace. Citing the Great Place to Work (GPTW) studies conducted in more than 44 countries and 4,500 organisations, which had seen corporations like Google, Goldman Sachs and Microsoft emerge as winners together with Fidelity, He affirmed his delight that Fidelity Bank belongs to this league having won the award on two (2) occasions.

In 2013, the lender was voted the fifth Best Place to Work in Nigeria, second among rated banks and third among all rated indigenous organisations in Nigeria.

Last year, Fidelity was again voted the second Best Place to Work in Nigeria by the GPTW, a US-based global research agency with operations in more than 40 countries across the world.
