Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Leading global bank, Citi last Friday said it has received the International Standard Organisation (ISO) 27001 certification, an international standard that provides requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an information security management system.

“This is proof that Citi is committed to maintaining high information security standards and will continue to upgrade its IT infrastructure in order to achieve this,” Akin Dawodu, Citi Nigeria CEO said in a statement.

The ISO2700 certification is the most stringent global standard for Information Security and as part of the Nigeria Financial Services Shared IT Infrastructure and IT Standards Programme, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has mandated all banks in Nigeria to be ISO 27001 Certified.

“This assures all stakeholders that information security risks are adequately managed at Citi,” the lender added.
