PZ Cussons Nigeria Says Q1 2015 Pretax Profit Down 37.3%

Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)- -Soap makers PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc, on Thursday said its first quarter (Q1) pretax profit for the period ended August 30, 2015 declined 37.3 percent to N546.79 million from N872.29 million recorded a year ago.

Similarly, post tax profit dipped 33.3 percent to N427.85 million from N641.69 million posted the same period of 2014.

Revenue of the local unit of British soap and shampoo maker also inched down from N15.019 billion in the Q1 of 2014 to N14.953 billion in the review period of 2015, PZ Cussons Nigeria said in a filing with the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).

At the close of Tuesday’s trading on the Nigerian bourse shares of the soap maker dipped 3.68 percent to N26.20 from N27.20 traded the previous session, losing N1.00 per share.
