CBN Boost FOREX Peg to N196.98/$1

Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Monday boosted its foreign exchange (FOREX) rate peg slightly to N196.98 against the United States U.S dollar on the interbank market from N197 it set last week, according to a Reuters report quoting traders.

The report quoted traders as saying that the CBN sent a message announcing the adjustment which is the eighth since the bank introduced tight currency controls in February.

In its usual email notice, Ugochukwu Okoroafor, the special adviser to the governor of CBN on Communications said the interbank closing rate as at Monday 12, 2015 was N196.98 to the greenback.
