Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Nigeria’s mid-tier lender, Wema Bank Plc said on Wednesday it has been granted a commercial banking license by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

“We are pleased to inform you of the grant by the Central Bank of a Commercial Banking license with National Authorisation,” the lender said in a letter to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).

Wema Bank said the upgrade of the Bank’s license from a Commercial Banking license with Regional Authorisation to that of a Commercial Banking license with National Authorisation was conveyed in CBN’s letter dated November 17, 2015
