LafargeHolcim Names Martin Kriegner Head of India

Lagos  (INVESTADVOCATE)- World’s building materials and cement producers, LafargeHolcim said on Tuesday it has named Martin Kriegner, head of India effective March 1, 2016, according to the company in an emailed statement.

LafargerHolcim says that Kriegner, currently area manager Central Europe will report to Eric Olsen, Group CEO and succeed Bernard Terver who has decided to retire.

Kriegner joined LafargeHolcim in 1990 and has previously held several seniour leadership positions in the Group, including CFO and CEO of the Group operations in Austria as well as head of Lafarge India and regional president Cement for Asia. He graduated from Vienna University with a Doctorate in Law and obtained an MBA at the University of Economics in Vienna. Kriegner is an Austrian national.

According to LafargeHolcim, the Group has a distribution network that extends across the entire country and continues to see opportunities to further build its business in India through the network of over 100,000 dealers and retailers.

Bernard Terver joined the Group in 1994 and became member of the seniour management in 2012. He was responsible for Ambuja Cements and ACC in India since 2014 and was appointed head of India at LafargeHolcim following the merger.

“The board of directors and the executive committee of LafargeHolcim thank Bernard Terver for his valuable contribution to the success of the Group over more than 20 years including the successful positioning of Ambuja Cements and ACC,” the world cement producer affirmed.
