PZ Cussons Nigeria Names Dahiru Muhammad Non-Executive Director

Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Soap and detergent producer, PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc on Monday said its board of directors has appointed Mallam Dahiru Muhammad as a non –executive director with effect from 12 May, 2016.

According to the company, Muhammad was born in 1947 in Yola , Adamawa state and attended Ahmadu Bello University where he graduated with a B.SC ( Economics) in 1972. He obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Economic Development in 1977 and a Masters Degree in 1979, both from the Vanderbilt University Tennessee, USA.

Started working with the defunct North- Eastern State Government as Assistant Admin Officer in 1972 and worked in the College of Arts and Science, Maiduguri as a lecturer between 1973 and 1975. From 1975 to 1983 he was a Senior Lecturer in Economics in the University of Maiduguri.

In 1983 he joined the Bank of the North Limited and rose to the position of an Assistant General Manager.

He was appointed Managing Director of New Africa Merchant Bank in 1989 and served in that position till 1994 when he retired.

In 1994 he established Ardo Investment Limited, (a Consultancy Firm), and in 1996,he established Ardo Plastics Limited, (a plastic manufacturing outfit), and most recently, Ardo Oil and Gas Limited.
Mal. Dahiru was a member of the Governing Council of Ahmadu Bello University(1986-1993), Chairman, Adamawa Investment and Property Development Company( 1996-1999)
Between 2005 and 2013, he served as a non-executive director of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

He is currently a member of the Governing Council of Bells University of Technology, Ota, Member Board of Trustees, PZ Cussons Foundation and Board of Trustees, Pension Fund Operators association of Nigeria and Chairman, Ultimate Health Management Services Limited an HMO based in Abuja.

Mal. Dahiru has a number of published articles in academic journals as well as a number of papers delivered at seminars, workshops and public lectures. He is a fellow of Africa- America Institute, New York.
