Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Soap and detergent producer, Unilever Nigeria Plc said on Monday its profit before tax (PBT) for the first-half (H1) period ended June 30, 2016 was N67.9 million compared to a loss of N770.6 million recorded a year ago.
Profit after tax (PAT) for the review period was N52.2 million compared to a loss of N504.8 million posted the same period of 2015.
Revenue of Unilever increased 15.4 percent to N15.5 billion in the H1 period 2016 from N13.8 billion declared in the H1 of 2015, the soap and detergent producer said in a filing with the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
Investment One research says the over 100 percent increase in both PBT and PAT was due to a lower base effect given the loss incurred in corresponding quarter of 2015,
