Mastercard has been named to the Forbes’ World’s Most Innovative Companies list, an annual ranking based on a company’s innovation premium or Innovator’s DNA. This year Mastercard moved up six spots to number 30.
From its annual employee two-day Take Initiative global hackathon, to its products, services and Priceless consumer marketing platforms, innovation is embedded throughout the company. Mastercard anticipates more change in payments in the next five years versus the previous 50, and is fully embracing the digital transformation with new ways to pay. Below are some recent examples:
- Masterpass enables you to make purchases online, in-app, or in store in a quick, easy, and secure way
- Mastercard Identity Check leverages biometrics to secure on-line shopping, verifying who you are with a fingerprint or ‘selfie’, versus having to remember a password
- Mastercard Aid Network is a technology based off a prepaid solution that delivers a more efficient and secure way to distribute humanitarian aid
- Groceries by Mastercard is an app which enables consumers to order groceries directly from the Samsung Family Hub refrigerator
This news comes on the heels of Mastercard being named to the Fortune ‘Change the World’ list. Read more about that here.
