Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Mid tier lender, Diamond Bank Plc on Friday said its pretax profit for the period ended September 30, 2016 declined 79.1 percent to N3.89 billion from N18.59 billion declared a year ago.
Post-tax profit of the bank also dropped 78 percent to N3.51 billion from N15.96 billion declared the same period of last.
Net interest income of the lender inched down 7.97 percent to N78.41 billion from N85.21 billion recorded the nine-month period of 2015; Diamond Bank said in a filing with the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
Shares of Diamond Bank at the close of trading on the domestic bourse plunged 4.39 percent to N1.0.9 from N1.14 posted the previous session to loss by 0.05 kobo per share.
