Intraday Update: NSEASI Gains +0.20%, as Profit-Taking in Major Sectors Persist

Market movers: WEMABANK (+9.40%), SKYEBANK (+9.30%), UNILEVER (-8.17%), CUTIX (-4.85%). 

Sector Performances: Banking (+1.24%), Oil & Gas (-0.48%),Consumer Goods (-0.39%), Industrial (-0.04%).  

Market activity: In today’s early trade, total volume and value increased by +422% and +278% respectively compared to this time last Friday. So far, investors have exchanged c. 2.28bn units of shares worth c. N7.11bn. TRANSCORP (-0.08%) is the most actively traded stock with c.2.12bn units of shares accounting for c.92% of total volume. 

Likely close: The market may likely close in the red today if the profit taking in most of the major sectors continues.
