Lagos (INVESTADVOCATE)-Nigeria’s top tier lender Zenith Bank Plc on Thursday said its post tax profit for the half year (H1) period ended June 30, 2020 grew 16.8 percent to N103.8 billion from N88.88 billion recorded a year earlier.
Pretax profit of the lender in the review period also inched up 2.2 percent to N114.12 billion from N111.67 billion declared the same period of last year.
Gross earnings increased to N346.08 billion in the 2020 H1 from N331.58 billion in the corresponding period of 2019; indicating a growth of 4,4 percent, the lender said in a filing with the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
Zenith Bank in its corporate action to the NSE, proposed a dividend of 0.30 kobo per share. However, qualification and closure date has not yet been scheduled, also payment date for the dividend to investors is yet to be fixed.
Shares of ZENITHBANK at the close of trading on the floor of the domestic bourse grew 1.47 percent to N17.20 from N16.95 recorded the previous session; indicating a gain of 0.25 kobo per share.
