Nigerian Exchange Limited is set to host a derivatives workshop in partnership with institutional investors and capital market stakeholders aimed at educating investors and other stakeholders on the trading of Single Stock Futures on its Exchange Traded Derivatives (ETDs) market.
The workshop will entail the importance, applicability, and nuances of trading Single Stock Futures on NGX, risk management, clearing & settlement, and the assurances the ecosystem provides to players in the derivatives market. Key players within Nigeria’s capital market, including institutional and retail investors, Asset Managers, PFAs, regulators, Banks, and various Capital Market Operators, are expected to attend.
The workshop will kick off via a webinar called “Uncovering Trading Opportunities in NGX Single Stock Futures” on Tuesday, 24 October 2023, featuring a series of panel discussions and informative sessions. Interested participants may register to attend here: NGX Derivatives Workshop.
Speaking about the webinar, the Executive Director, of Capital Markets, NGX, Mr. Jude Chiemeka, noted, “At NGX, we recognize that the concept of Single Stock Futures in the Nigerian capital market is relatively nascent, contributing to a noticeable gap in knowledge and sophistication. To address this, the Exchange is organizing this webinar to shed light on the untapped potential of Single Stock Futures trading in the derivatives arena.
“We have brought together a diverse panel of industry experts, institutional investors, and market participants who will delve into the practical aspects and opportunities of trading Single Stock Futures on the Exchange. Our ultimate goal is to enhance understanding and awareness surrounding derivatives trading, thereby contributing to the growth of the market.”
