NGXASI Advance +3.00%, Crosses 100k Points first Time Ever

The NGXASI advanced by 3.00% today, crossing the 100,000-mark for the first time ever, to close at 101,571.11pts, as investors buying interest on DANGCEM (+6.49%), BUACEMENT (+9.98%) and BUAFOODS (+5.59%) drove the market into the green zone.

In the Fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market closed downwards, driven by the bearish performance seen across the mid and long end of the curve, as Average T-Bills yield surged by 255bps to 6.73%. Likewise, the FGN Bond market closed down as the Average FGN Bond yield slightly increased by 1bp to close at 13.59%.

At the NAFEM window, the Naira depreciated by 0.41% to close at NGN882.24/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) inched up by 0.80% to USD80.19pb.
