NGXASI Gains +0.26% to Open Week, Buoyed by Banking Counters

The NGXASI advanced by 0.26% today to close at 97,864.65pts, as the buy-interests observed in UBA (+5.73%), ZENITHBANK (+2.50%) and FBNH (+3.18%) drove the local bourse into the positive territory.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market remained unchanged at today’s close, as sentiment was tepid across all tenors. Consequently, Average T-Bills yield was unchanged to close at 21.97%. Elsewhere, the FGN Bond market traded on a bearish note as the Average FGN Bond yield advanced by 2bps to 18.69%.

At the NAFEM window, the Naira appreciated by 9.68% to close at NGN 1,339.33/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) advanced by 1.11% to USD83.03pb.
