NGXASI Dips -0.20%, Dragged by Banking Counters

The NGXASI declined by 0.20% today to close at 99,805.95pts, as the losses printed in GTCO (-4.21%), UBA (-2.74%) and ETI (-3.86%) drove the local equities market into the negative territory.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market exhibited a bearish performance as yields increased across the benchmark curve. Consequently, Average T-Bills yield rose by 60bps to close at 23.49%. However, the FGN Bond market traded on a tepid note as the Average FGN Bond yield closed flat at 18.78%.

At the NAFEM window, the Naira weakened by 0.57% to close at NGN1,532.58/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) fell by 0.65% to USD85.19pb.
