Nigerian Stocks Gain +0.62%, Buoyed by Bellwether Counters

The NGXASI advanced today by 0.62% to close at 96,802.80.18pts as investors buy interest in MTNN (+7.54%), OANDO (+6.70%) and TRANSCORP (+2.27%) drove the domestic bourse into the green zone.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a negative note driven by selloffs across the curve. Consequently, Average T-Bills yield increased by 1bp to close at 20.03%. Likewise, the FGN Bond market traded negatively as the Average FGN Bond yield rose by 2bps to close at 18.74%.

At the NAFEM window, the Naira depreciated by 3.61% to close at NGN1,637.59/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) settled lower by 3.27% to USD69.49pb.
