NGXASI Dips -0.33% on Selloffs in Bellwether Counters

The NGXASI declined today by 0.33% to close at 98,232.39pts as investor selloffs recorded in OANDO (-6.78%) , UBA (-4.59%) and FBNH (-4.44%) drove the Nigerian equities market into the negative region.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market closed on a bearish note, mainly driven by selloffs observed across the mid and long tenor instruments. Consequently, Average T-Bills yield rose by 61bps at 22.53%. Similarly, the FGN Bond market traded on a bearish note as the Average FGN Bond yield increased by 6bps to close at 18.83%.

At the NAFEM window, the Naira weakened by 8.25% to close at NGN1,669.15/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) advanced by 0.37% to USD73.83pb.
