NGXASI Gains +0.19% to Start Week, Buoyed by UBA, FIDELITY, Dangote Sugar

The NGXASI advanced today by 0.19% to close at 97,706.70pts as buying interest in FIDELITYBK (+10.00%), DANGSUGAR (+5.88%) and UBA (+2.38%) buoyed the equities market into the positive zone.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market closed negative following selloffs seen on the mid and long tenor instruments. Thus, Average T-Bills yield rose by 27bps to close at 22.95%. However, the FGN Bond market traded on a flattish note as the Average FGN Bond yield remained unchanged to close at 19.08%.

At the NAFEM window, the Naira weakened by 0.24% to close at NGN1,635.15/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) edged higher by 2.93% to USD80.34pb.
