UBA, OANDO, SEPLAT Drives NGXASI to Open Week Positive +0.64%

The NGXASI closed the first trading day of the week on a positive note as it surged by 0.64% to close at 98,694.80pts as buy interests in SEPLAT (+9.99%), UBA (+4.33%) and OANDO (+3.77%) drove the local equities market into the positive territory.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market closed in the negative region, driven by the selloffs observed across the short and long tenors of the curve. As such, Average T-Bills yield climbed by 2bps to close at 24.18%. Similarly, the FGN Bond market traded on a bearish note as the Average FGN Bond yield rose by 1bp to close at 19.31%.

At the NAFEM window, the Naira depreciated by 0.15% to close at NGN1,603.16/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) advanced by 1.56% to USD74.20pb.
