NGXASI Dips -0.35%, Dragged by FIDELITYBANK, WEMABANK

The NGXASI declined by 0.35% today to close at 97,296.57pts, as the sell pressure observed in NB (-5.26%), FIDELITYBK (-1.60%) and WEMABANK (-2.79%) pushed the local equities market into the negative terrain.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a bearish note as yields rose across the curve amid selloffs from investors. As a result, Average T-Bills yield jumped by 108bps to close at 25.12%. In the same vein, the FGN Bond market was negative as the Average FGN Bond yield increased marginally by 4bps to close at 19.45%.

At the NAFEM window, the Naira depreciated by 0.08% to close at NGN1,660.83/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 0.19% to USD72.95pb.
