NGXASI Dips -0.29% on Losses in Blue Chips

The NGXASI declined by 0.29% today to close at 102,836.35pts, resulting from the losses printed in MTNN (-3.63%), FBNH (-1.74%) and WAPCO (-1.34%) which stoked the negative performance in the Nigerian bourse.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a slightly positive note driven by the mild buying interest observed across the curve. As such, Average T-Bills yield moderated by 2bps to close at 25.12%. However, the FGN Bond market traded on a bearish note as the Average FGN Bond yield increased by 32bps to close at 20.74%.

According to the FMDQ FX closing rate, the Naira strengthened marginally by 0.01% to close at NGN1,552.58/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 0.14% to USD79.40pb.
