The NGXASI advanced by 0.79% today to close at 104,418.95pts, driven by gains particularly in banking names like ACCESSCORP (+9.88%), FBNH (+7.84%) and UBA (+4.93%) which buoyed the local bourse into the green zone.
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a positive note largely due to buy pressure observed on the short and long end of the curve. Consequently, Average T-Bills yield fell by 7bps to close at 24.76%. Similarly, the FGN Bond market exhibited a positive bias as the Average FGN Bond yield declined by 2bps to close at 20.70%.
According to the FMDQ FX closing rate, the Naira weakened by 0.16% to close at NGN1,533.63.20/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) settled lower by 0.52% to USD78.09pb.
