NGXASI Losses -0.51%, Dragged by Dangote Sugar, TRANSCORP

The NGXASI declined by 0.51% today to close at 106,904.25pts, as selloffs observed in TRANSCORP (-10.00%), ETI (-9.79%) and DANGSUGAR (-10.00%) drove the domestic bourse into the red zone.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a positive note, mostly driven by the optimistic sentiment seen across all tenor instruments. As such, Average T-Bills yield fell by 11bps to close at 19.79%. Likewise, the FGN Bond market closed upwards as the Average FGN Bond yield fell by 15bps to close at 18.42%.

According to the NFEM closing rate, the Naira depreciated by 0.20% to close at NGN1,502.00/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) declined by 1.84% to USD70.30pb.
