NGXASI Dips -0.23% on Selloffs in FCMB, MTNN, TRANSCORP

The NGXASI declined by 0.23% today to close at 106,538.60pts, as selloffs observed in TRANSCORP (-9.46%), MTNN (-3.18%) and FCMB (-7.61%) drove the domestic bourse into the red zone.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a bearish note, mostly driven by the profit taking activities across the long end of the curve. As such, Average T-Bills yield rose 7bps to close at 19.16%. Elsewhere, the FGN Bond market was positive as the Average FGN Bond yield fell by 1bp to close at 18.45%.

According to the NFEM closing rate, the Naira depreciated by 1.45% to close at NGN1,542.00/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) advanced by 1.31% to USD70.37pb.
