NGXASI Dips -0.43% on Losses in Bellwether Counters

The NGXASI declined by 0.43% today to close at 106,167.75pts, as selloffs observed in MTNN (+4.22%), ACCESSCORP (+1.84%) and TRANSCORP (+1.07%) drove the domestic bourse into the red zone.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a flattish note, mostly driven by the tepid activities across the short end of the curve. As such, Average T-Bills yield traded flat to close at 19.16%. Similarly, the FGN Bond market was flat as the Average FGN Bond yield remained constant to close at 18.43%.

According to the NFEM closing rate, the Naira depreciated by 0.59% to close at NGN1,547.00/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) advanced by 0.77% to USD69.81pb.
