NGXASI Declines -0.44% on Losses in Bellwether Counters

The NGXASI declined by 0.44% today to close at 104,915.13pts, as the sell offs recorded in TRANSCORP (-7.84%), UBA (-3.10%) and OANDO (-4.55%) drove the local equities market into the negative territory.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a marginally positive note given the decline seen on most instruments across the benchmark curve. Consequently, Average T-Bills yield moderated by 1bp to close at 19.24%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond market ended the day on a tepid note as the Average FGN Bond yield closed flat at 18.59%.

At the NFEM window, the Naira appreciated by 0.16% to close at NGN1,530.52/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 0.50% to USD70.91pb.
