NGXASI Gains +0.15%, Buoyed by Banking Counters

The NGXASI advanced by 0.15% today to close at 104,376.73pts, as buy-ins in FIRSTHOLDCO (+3.70%), ZENITHBANK (+3.30%) and UBA (+2.64%) drove the local equities market into the green.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market closed bearish driven by selloffs observed across all the tenors. As such, Average T-Bills yield boosted by 67bps to close at 20.57%. Similarly, the FGN Bond market traded on a negative note as the Average FGN Bond yield climbed by 6bps to close at 18.75%.

At the NFEM window, the Naira appreciated by 0.04% to close at NGN1,611.55/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) fell by 1.79% to USD63.06pb.
