The NGXASI advanced by 1.56% today to close at 108,361.10pts, as the bargain hunting in MTNN (+9.16%), NESTLE (+10.00%) and GTCO (+2.44%) pushed the Nigerian equities market into the green zone.
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a positive note driven by the buying interest observed at the long end of the curve. As such, Average T-Bills yield declined by 10bps to close at 20.93%. Similarly, the FGN Bond market was marginally positive as the Average FGN Bond yield moderated by 1bp to close at 19.02%.
At the NFEM window, the Naira weakened by 0.06% to close at NGN1,606.64/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 3.93% to USD62.60pb.
