NGXASI Gains +0.35%, Driven by Bellwether Counters

The NGXASI rose by 0.35% today to close at 109,231.96pts, as the bargain hunting in TRANSCOHOTEL (+8.62%), STANBIC (+6.47%) and DANGCEM (+1.85%) pushed the local equities market into the green zone.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a positive note driven by the buying interest observed at the long end of the curve. As such, Average T-Bills yield declined by 3bps to close at 20.88%. Similarly, the FGN Bond market was bullish as the Average FGN Bond yield fell by 3bp to close at 19.00%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira weakened by 0.06% to close at NGN1,609.64/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) fell by 2.13% to USD62.42pb.
