NGXASI Dips -0.46%, Dragged by Blue Chips

The NGXASI fell by 0.46% today to close at 108,733.40pts, as the bargain hunting in TRANSCORP (-4.55%), TRANSCOHOT (-2.54%) and ACCESSCORP (-2.54%) pushed the local equities market into the red zone.

In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a negative note driven by the sell-offs observed at the long end of the curve. As such, Average T-Bills yield rose by 9bps to close at 20.97%. Similarly, the FGN Bond market was bearish as the Average FGN Bond yield climbed by 7bps to close at 19.07%.

At the NFEM window, the Naira weakened by 0.06% to close at NGN1,609.64/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) fell by 2.13% to USD62.42pb.
