NGXASI Declines -0.39%, Dragged by Blue Chips

The NGXASI declined by 0.39% today to close at 120,779.05pts, as the profit-taking activities in BUAFOODS (-6.46%), OANDO (-9.96%) and FIRSTHOLDCO (-3.28%) drove the domestic equities market into the negative region.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a relatively flat note. As the Average T-Bills yield remained unchanged to close at 20.32%. However, the FGN Bond market traded on a slightly bearish note as the Average FGN Bond yield inched higher to close at 18.44%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira appreciated by 0.85% to close at NGN1,536.08/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) rose by 1.65% to trade at USD68.80pb.
