BUAFOODS, STANBIC,TRANSCORP Spur Nigerian Stocks to +0.13% Gain

The NGXASI advanced by 0.13% today to close at 145,948.47pts, as buy pressure on STANBIC (+10.00%), BUAFOODS (+2.28%) and TRANSCORP (+0.97%) drove the local bourse into the green zone.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a positive note, due to buy pressure observed at the short and long end of the benchmark curve. As a result, the Average T-Bills yield moderated by 3bps to close at 17.88%. However, the FGN Bond market traded on negative note as the Average FGN Bond yield marginally increased by 1bps to close at 16.52%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira depreciated by 0.15% to close at NGN1,535.93/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) edged higher by 0.33% to USD66.81pb.
