NGXASI Dips -0.46%, Dragged by Bellwether Counters

The NGXASI declined by 0.46% today to close at 144,628.20pts, as losses in NEM (-9.97%), INTBREW (-4.26%) and MTNN (-3.26%) drove the domestic bourse into the red zone for the third consecutive trading session.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market closed negative, majorly due to selloffs observed at the short end of the benchmark curve. As a result, the Average T-Bills yield increased by 3bps to close at 17.96%. Likewise, the FGN Bond market traded on a negative note as the Average FGN Bond yield inched up by 7bps to close at 16.62%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira appreciated by 0.13% to close at NGN1,532.51/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) settled lower by 0.93% to USD66.22pb.
