NGXASI Starts Week Positive +0.30% on Bellwether Gains

The NGXASI advanced by 0.30% today to close at 139,394.75pts, as the gains recorded in DANGSUGAR (+9.09%), NASCON (+7.62%) and ZENITHBANK (+1.31%) drove the Nigerian equities market into the green zone.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a negative note, driven by selloffs on the short and long end of the benchmark curve. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield advanced by 15bps to close at 18.72%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond market traded on a muted note as the Average FGN Bond yield marginally declined by 1bp to close at 16.99%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira strengthened by 0.53% to close at NGN1,506.84/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) edged higher by 0.84% to close at USD66.05pb.
