NGXASI Gain Slightly +0.01%, Buoyed by Blue Chips

The NGXASI inched higher today by 0.01% to close at 149,459.11pts, as buy pressure on GUINNESS (+9.98%), CUSTODIAN (+7.84%) and FIRSTHOLDCO (+4.20%) led the market to close in the positive zone.
 
In the fixed income space, the Treasury Bills secondary market traded on a positive note, driven by buy-ins across the three ends of the benchmark curve. Consequently, the Average T-Bills yield declined by 1bp to close at 17.43%. Meanwhile, the FGN Bond secondary market traded on a negative note as the Average FGN Bond yield increased by 8bps to close at 16.71%.
 
At the NFEM window, the Naira slightly depreciated by 0.15% to close at NGN 1,454.00/USD. Crude oil price (Brent) tilted lower by 2.77% to close at USD58.88pb.
